The Major Reading Blount Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution began its May 11 meeting at Pamlico Rose Haven, a reintegration retreat for female Veterans and healing space for the Veteran community. Members were given a tour of the house and gardens by Shannon Standridge, a volunteer and member of the Air Force Reserve.  Rose Haven provides wellness and resilience programs for veterans and will expand its services as the house and barn are completed.

Regent Cathy Whichard presented Pamlico Rose with an American flag which had flown over Constitution Hall in Washington, DC, as well as a monetary donation for the restoration of the house.

The meeting concluded with a covered dish luncheon and social time. Any woman 18 years or older with a Patriot in her family is welcome to join DAR. Visit our website for more information. ncdar.org/majorreadingblountchapter.html
