BCS seniors earn over $3.8 million in scholarships

Seniors at Beaufort County high schools earned more than $3.8 million in scholarships. Washington High School received the most scholarship money amounting to $2.7 million, according to Beaufort County Schools (BCS). Southside High School seniors garnered over $719,000. Northside High School seniors earned a total of $692,722 and Early College High School seniors earned more than $437,740. 

 

Fifty associate degrees were awarded to Beaufort County high school seniors. Early College had the most with 38 degrees. 

 

Jackson Wilder from Washington High School was awarded the most in scholarship money. He was given $828,700 which includes a full-ride to Duke University where he will be attending in the fall. 

 

Alfred “Mitch” Godley was awarded $115,000 in scholarships and will be attending Catawba College. Jessica Mendoza, of Early College High School was awarded $103,080 in scholarships. She will be attending UNC Chapel Hill. From Southside High School, Laura Hodges was awarded $22,500 and will be attending East Carolina University.
