Betty Ruth Dixon Hodges, age 91, a resident of Chocowinity, died Thursday June 9, 2022 ay Windsor House Assisted Living in Windsor.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Monday June 13, 2022 at the Dixon Family Cemetery and will be officiated by Pastor Joe Ange. Honorary pallbearers will include Ronnie Godley, Matthew Dixon, Brent Hodges, Brian Viegra, Ray Hodges, and Robert Smith.

Mrs. Hodges was born in Beaufort County on April 30, 1931 to the late Jessie and Elizabeth Barr Dixon. On September 7, 1949 she married the late Norman Hodges, Jr. Mrs. Hodges Worked in line repair at Singer Furniture Company in Chocowinity. She was a member of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Hodges enjoyed gardening, sewing, and raising chickens.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Steele (Robert) of Chocowinity, a son, Terry Hodges (Selena) of Blounts Creek, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a brother, Elbert Dixon (Maddie) of Goldsboro.

She is preceded in death by three sons, Jessie Norman Hodges, William Steven Hodges, Elbert Glenn Hodges, and  eight siblings.

The family requests that anyone in attendance please wear a mask.
