Mr. Marlin Dewain Waters, Sr., age 72, a resident of Slatestone Road, Washington, died Sunday, July 10, 2022, at his home.

Graveside services were held 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Waters Family Cemetery, Slatestone Road, Washington, conducted by Phillip Paul.

The following served as pallbearers:  Ernie Everett, Danny Everett, Marlin Waters, Jr., Hilton Waters, James Everett, and Gary Mason.

Mr. Waters was born in Beaufort County on September 12, 1949.  He was the son of the late Herman Augustus Waters and Frances Brinn Waters.  Mr. Waters was a custom home builder, sawmill owner/operator and commercial fisherman.  He was baptized on February 23, 1969.  Mr. Waters was a past member of the Everetts Church of Christ. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and gardening.

On June 15, 1969, Mr. Waters married the former Argie Everett, who survives.

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Marlin D. Waters, Jr. (Cathy) of Bath, Hilton W. Waters (Vanniesa) of Bath; four grandchildren, Marla Jean Waters and fiancé, Levi Manning, Malissa W. Griekspoor (Shane), Taren S. Jackson (Blake), Reghan B. Waters;  one great grandchild, Caroline Jean Manning; one brother, Horace O. Waters and friend, Melanie Alligood; two sisters, Lenora W. Perry (Dwain), Hesta W. Moore and friend, Gary Mason and a host of wonderful nieces and nephews.
