The Washington Noon Rotary Club’s featured guest speaker Monday was recently appointed Beaufort County Economic Development Director Brad Hufford, pictured left with Club President, Dr. David Loope.

During his twenty minute presentation, Mr. Hufford said, “economic development is simply all about jobs, investment and manufacturing to grow the county’s tax base.”

Since assuming the reigns of Executive Director May 16, Mr. Hufford explained he has been focusing on the people, the product and the processes which are required to help grow existing businesses while attracting new business investment.

He also voiced enthusiasm over a recent CNBC report which cited North Carolina as the “number one” state in America for attracting new business thanks to bi-partisan leadership.

In other club news, President Loope welcomed Shannon Carter, who transitioned his Evening Rotary Club membership to the Noon Rotary Club. The Washington Noon Rotary Club reconvenes this coming Monday at the King Chicken Banquet Facility for its customary 12-1p.m. luncheon meeting.
