Lane Blu’s third installment of their brand, Blu Farm to Table restaurant, is anticipated to open soon on East Main Street in downtown Washington. The restaurant resides in the same blue building that is home to Lane Blu’s home decor and kitchen essentials shop and their clothing store, Blu Boutique.

Blu Farm to Table will use fresh, locally sourced ingredients to make meals that reflect what is harvested in the current season. (The menu is expected to offer gluten and dairy free options.)

The menu will change with the seasons to ensure that ingredients are used when they are freshest. According to the restaurant’s website, the organic menu will have a global flare and still use meats, vegetables and fruits that are native to eastern North Carolina.

The restaurant plans to use fresh beef from Nooherooka Natural farm in Snow Hill, and crawfish from NLN Farms in Chocowinity. Fruits and vegetables are planned to come from Deep Roots Farm in Washington, Thousand Hills Homestead as well as Peaceful Acres Farm. Also, New Life Legacy Farm has a partnership with the restaurant.

Blu Farm to Table offers guests handcrafted cocktails that can be enjoyed on their rooftop patio with a side of views of the river.

Lane Blu is owned and operated by Vickie Desourdy which opened more than two years ago. Items in the home decor and kitchen essentials shop as well as the clothing store are inspired by her travels around the world. The three businesses provide customers with items that give their home, kitchen and personal style a cosmopolitan feel.
