Mr. John Wesley Parish, age 86, a resident of Chocowinity, died Thursday, October 27, 2022, at his home.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Parish was born on October 5, 1936, in Pontotoc County, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late Wesley A. Parish and Tillie May Taylor Parish. Mr. Parish was a retired employee with Lee Chevrolet. He was a member of Chocowinity United Methodist Church. In his spare time, Mr. Parish enjoyed woodworking, playing music and yardwork.

On September 11, 1997, Mr. Parish married the former Minnie Pryor Jones, who survives.

Surviving with his wife are his daughter, Ruth Ann Parish of Texas; his grandson, Dusty Dunlap of Texas; one stepdaughter, Dianne Jones Wright of Washington; two step grandchildren, Judson R. O’Neal, and Ashley G. O’Neal; three step great grandchildren, Madison Wright, Beau Wright, Ashlynn Cutler and special friend, Keith Coggins.

In addition of his parents, Mr. Parish was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Cynthia Rae Jones.
