Carrie Elizabeth Cratch Brown, a resident of Washington, NC died Thursday December 22, 2022 at ECU Health Medical Center Beaufort Campus.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday December 26, 2022, in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be officiated by Eddie Bowen. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Her nephews, William Cratch, Michael Cratch, Jerry Davis, Stephen Cratch, Will Cratch and Austin Cratch, will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Brown was born in Beaufort County on April 20, 1944, to the late Lloyd Durwood Cratch and Virginia Bernice Stamper. She was an avid bowler and a member of many bowling leagues and loved to camp and fish. Mrs. Brown was a member of Old Ford Church of Christ.

Survivors include her daughter, Lynn B. Hodges and husband Sammy of Washington, two granddaughters, Emily Hodges Hall and husband Michael, Molly Elizabeth Hodges, four great grandchildren, Addyson Bridgeman, Colby Bridgeman, Clayton Bridgeman, Paxton Hall, a sister, Andria Cratch Gooch and husband Ernest, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Lane Brown, a son, Timothy Lane Brown, II, three brothers, Lloyd Swindell Cratch, William Harvey Cratch, Durwood Eugene Cratch, and a sister, Estella Cratch Stancill.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Monday December 26, 2022 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Old Ford Church of Christ, 6040 US Hwy. 17 N., Washington or to the Journey Church P.O. Box 1301, Washington, NC 27889.
