Girls host, boys travel as state tournament begins Tuesday

The Northside and Southside girls will host 1A state basketball tournament first round games Tuesday, while the Washington and Southside boys hit the road.

The Seahawks girls (22-6) drew the seventh seed in 1A and host #26 Eno River Academy Tuesday at 6 p.m. If Southside wins, they host the #10 Cape Hatteras-#21 Union winner Thursday.

#12 Northside (17-6) hosts #21 East Wake Academy (9-11) Tuesday at 6 p.m. The winner plays the Perquimans (5)-Columbia (28) winner Thursday.

Falls Lake Academy (27-0) is the top seed in 1A.

On the boys side, Southside (9-16) is the 31st seed and will travel to second-seeded Wilson Prep (21-7) Tuesday.

Bertie HS is the top seed in 1A boys.

Washington (13-13) is the #22 seed in 2A and will travel to #11 Princeton (21-3) The winner faces the winner of #6 Heide Trask and #27 Wallace Rose Hill.

Farmville Central is the top seed in the 2A boys tournament.
