Donna Carlene Davis Selby Potter, age 85, a resident of Winsteadville and more recently Pamlico Beach Community, died Saturday, March 18, 2023, at her home.

A graveside service was held 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Harry Smith.

Mrs. Potter was born in Beaufort County on July 5, 1937, to the late David Clifton Davis and Margaret Lucille Paul. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, she sang in the choir, helped with the fall festival and was instrumental in the Banner Program. Mrs. Potter enjoyed painting and was known for her flower beds.

Survivors include her husband Herbert Mac Potter of the home, a son, Ray Selby and wife Cathy of Belhaven, a daughter, Donna Kirk and husband Willis of Washington, two step children, Mack Potter of Bath, Pamela Flanagan and husband Stuart of Washington, six grandchildren, Jessica Green and husband Charlie of Washington, Danielle Tonkery and husband Dave of Indian Land, SC, Joshua Selby and wife Susan of Washington, Katie Gregory of Washington, Steven Selby of Belhaven, Montana Selby of Greenville, four great grandchildren, Emma Gregory, Wyatt Gregory, Fischer Green, Kolton Selby, and a sister, Phyllis Woolard and husband Phillip of Plymouth.

She is preceded in death by her first love, Ray Selby in 2002, two sons, Neil Selby 2003, Carrol Selby 2016, two brothers, Tex Davis, Sid Davis and a sister, Joan Craft.

The family received friends following the graveside service and other times at the home.
