Mr. Jody Lee Bright, age 51, a resident of Chocowinity, passed away peacefully after a brief illness Sunday, April 2, 2023, at ECU Health Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 9, 2023, from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Burial will follow at Dixon Family Cemetery in Chocowinity.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mr. Bright was born in Beaufort County on September 3, 1971.  He was the son of the late Jessie Lee Bright and Barbara Lewis Bright.  Mr. Bright was a retired mobile home park manager.

He was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Washington, where he sang in the choir.  Mr. Bright showed his faith and love for Christ by wearing Christian themed T-shirts. He enjoyed witnessing for Christ, traveling, bowling, wrestling, volunteering at Eagle’s Wings and Zumba at the gym.

Mr. Bright is survived by his wife, Melber Baker of the home, and his fur babies, Snickers and Goldie.
