Jackson Gray Harris, 21, of Engelhard, died on Thursday, April 6, 2023.

Jackson was born in Beaufort County on November 2, 2001, to Christopher James and Sherry Hinson Harris.

Jackson loved history and political science and was constantly reading, learning, and researching information about the world. He was always acquiring new knowledge. He enjoyed talking about current events and politics. Games of all types were his favorite pastime. He had a whole world of thoughts, feelings, frustrations and ideas inside him he just never learned how to share. All who loved him pray he is now at peace. He was loved and will be forever missed. 

 A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Fulford Cemetery on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, with Pastor Andy Edge.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the funeral home and other times at the home.

In addition to his parents surviving is his twin sister, Emily G. Harris and fiancée, Joshua Meeks of Greenville, paternal grandmother, Carol Harris of Engelhard, maternal grandparents, William Harrell and Janice Sue Faircloth Hinson of Clinton, NC, one uncle, Mark Harris and wife Tynia of Engelhard and an aunt, Donna Michelle Hinson of Clinton, NC. Along with his cousins, Aaron Harris and wife Janice Harris, Jordan Suter and husband Justin Suter, Brittany Bradshaw, Brookly Bradshaw, and Summer Thornton.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Franklin Harris, and an uncle, William Harrel Hinson, Jr.
