Allan Louis Thiel, age 72, of Washington, NC, died Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice.

 Born in Connecticut on April 14, 1951, Allan was the son of the late Louis W. and Sylvia Thiel.

He joined the Christian Motorcyclists Association in 1994, where he met his wife, Karen. Both were founding members of CMA’s Beacon Bikers chapter in New Haven and helped start two other chapters in Connecticut. After moving to North Carolina in 2014, they joined CMA’s North Carolina Lighthouse Christian Riders chapter in Greenville, and attended Harvest Church in Washington, where Allan served on the altar prayer team.

 Allan is survived by his wife Karen (Imber) Thiel and their rescued “furbaby” Aspen, as well as his cousin Margie Thiel, uncle Herbert Thiel, aunt Zowalla Thiel and her children, Bruce Thiel and Leslie Freenock.

 He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Sylvia Thiel; brothers Ken and Steve Thiel; uncles Lester, Leroy, Harry, Glen and Frank Thiel, as well as aunts Agnes Smith, Dorothy Tangel, and Rose Wagner.

 A memorial service will be held Monday, May 8 at Harvest Church, 2020 West 15th Street, Washington, NC. Friends will be received at 6pm with service at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Allan’s name may be made to the Christian Motorcyclists Association (marked with his name and the words “Run For The Son”) and mailed to CMA at P.O. Box 9, Hatfield, AR 71945.
