The North Carolina Fossil Festival, originally scheduled for this weekend, has been postponed to June.

William “Bill” Cook, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aurora Fossil Museum, which is hosting the 2023 North Carolina Fossil Festival scheduled for this Memorial Day Weekend, has announced that the Festival is being postponed until June 24-25, 2023 due to predicated hazardous weather conditions.

“Weather reports are making it impossible for us to proceed with the North Carolina Fossil Festival this weekend.” Cook said.

The nonprofit Aurora Fossil Museum, in Aurora, N.C. annually counts on the Festival as a fund raising event.

“We are asking everyone planning to attend and for the cooperation of all our vendors to return to Aurora on June 24 & 25 for the Festival,” Cook said.
