Fugitive wanted for armed robbery arrested after foot chase

On May 9, 2023 and May 18, 2023 officer with the Washington Police Department responded to Speedway at 2532 W. 5th Street and the H&K Mart at 800 Carolina Avenue in reference to armed robberies.  In both cases a male and female entered and proceeded to demand money while displaying a weapon.  As a result of the investigation by Washington Police Department warrants were obtained for Milaya Bailey and Timothy Pope.  While Bailey was arrested by Greenville Police Department over the past weekend, Pope remained at large.  Today Washington Police Department detectives and the US Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force located Pope and arrested him in Washington following a brief foot chase.  The US Marshal’s service were also seeking Pope due to Sex Offender and Probation violations.  Pope is being held on a $789,000 secure bond.  Washington Police Department would like to thank the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, Greenville Police Department, SBI Violent Fugitive and Missing Person Task Force and NC Probation for their assistance in the investigation and apprehension of these dangerous offenders.
