Students at the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain, Washington Unit, thought they would have been playing away on their brand new “state of the art” playground by now. However, Tropical Storm Ophelia drenched those plans and construction had to be postponed on September 22. Wednesday, October 4th, has been selected for the new build day. The project is a collaborative effort between the Boys and Girls Club, Kaboom, a national nonprofit committed to ending play space inequity, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, which will have volunteers on hand to help on construction day. Those locally who signed up to volunteer or would just like to come by on the day of to lend a hand, are being asked to show up at the Boys and Girls Club by 8:00 am. And it is not too late to register to volunteer at https://bit.ly/3OkrOxq Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
