The Washington High School girls’ basketball team had to forfeit two games last week after a fight broke out during a home game with Ayden-Grifton.
Washington Athletic Director Will Tyson confirmed the forfeits and said two members of the team who were involved in the fight have been suspended and are no longer part of the team.
“The two young ladies that were the main culprits of the incident were removed from the team and suspended (for the rest of the season),” Tyson said Thursday.
Video surfaced of the fight, which happened during the latter part of the game with the Chargers on Feb. 3. The Pam Pack team then forfeited games to West Craven on Feb. 5 and Farmville Central on Feb. 7.
“They were on a two-game suspension, and then they were allowed to play (Tuesday night against Greene Central).
