Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Back in the 1960’s, we all had saints for mothers. Just think how much they did for us . . they washed our clothes, took us to the doctor, played nurse, and protected us from our dads.

They were the biggest fans we had! They cooked supper and had breakfast ready in the morning. Mine worked at the dry cleaners during the day and put in tobacco during the summer, all the time drinking her coffee. All the time being our fans.

They would help with our homework and see our teachers when necessary.
My mom worked after Rose Ann and I left for college. She worked 8 hrs. at the dry cleaners during the day while my father worked on the farm.

He wouldn’t go in on Mondays to pick up and deliver clothes until she got there either. She ran the cleaners.
My dad said she was smart like a fox after she passed away. I never heard them argue or complain . Yep, my mom was a saint.

They were the best times with best of friends and best of places, Washington, NC! The Original Washington!
