State high school basketball playoff brackets released

Washington, Northside boys, Panthers girls home, Southside on road in first round
Three of the four teams that qualified for the high school basketball state playoffs will be home for the first round, which starts Tuesday.
The NC High School Athletic Association released the brackets Sunday night on its website.

Northside’s boys (20-5) are the No. 13 seed in the Class 1A East bracket. The Panthers will host No. 20 seed North Duplin (11-11).
Washington’s boys (19-6) are the No. 13 seed in the Class 2A East bracket. The Pam Pack will host Eastern Plains Conference foe Greene Central (11-11), the No. 20 seed.
Northside’s girls (24-1) are the No. 3 seed in the Class 1A East bracket. They will host Rosewood (8-14), the No. 30 seed.
Southside’s girls (14-9) are the No. 24 seed in the Class 1A East bracket. They will travel to No. 9 seed Chatham Central (15-9).
The second round of the state playoffs is this Friday and will be determined based on Tuesday’s results. The next two rounds are March 4 and March 7. The regional finals will be March 10-13 at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem. The state finals are March 14-15 at the same site.
