On Saturday, February 22, 2025 at approximately 1:35 p.m. officers with Washington Police Department were dispatched to the H&K Mart located at 800 Carolina Avenue in Washington NC.  Using witness descriptions and surveillance from businesses in the area officers and detectives were able to obtain a good description of the offender.  On Sunday, February 23, 2025 at approximately 9:50 p.m. officer responded to a reported armed robbery at the Drive Thru Smoker Tobacco and Vape Store located at 1412 Carolina Avenue.  Based on description and behavior of the offender detectives quickly determined this offender and the offender from the H&K Mart robbery were the same person.

As a result of the ensuing investigation WPD detectives identified Brandon Moray Adams, 22 years old of Washington NC as the suspect.  Warrants were obtained for Adams and he was taken into custody at approximately 11:05 p.m.  Adams was transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center where he is being held without bond pending first appearance.
