Mrs. Mary Waters Sullivan, age 97, a resident of Washington, NC died Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at her home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Oakdale Cemetery and will be officiated by Rev. Joseph Hall. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM Until 8:00 PM Friday, February 28, 2025, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

Mrs. Sullivan was born in Beaufort County on February 20, 1928, to the late Hoyt E. Waters and Lela Boyd Waters. In June of 1947 she married Bennie F. Sullivan. She was a member of Five Points Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jane Jones (Ray) of Chocowinity, Sharon Elizabeth Wilson (William) of Washington, three grandchildren, Bennie Ray Jones (Bonnie), William Jones (Tracey), Michael Spivey (Christie), five great grandchildren, James Jones (Emily), Arabella Spivey, Bethany Spivey, Darion Carlings, Ian Toler, and one great great-granddaughter, Emma Squires.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years Bennie F. Sullivan, a daughter, Julie Sullivan, four brothers, Ecker Waters, Jessie Waters, Herbert Waters, Henry Waters, and two sisters, Lela Riley, and Isabelle Price.
