On March 7, 2025, at approximately 7:08 a.m. the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of property damage at United Methodist Church located on North Asbury Church Rd. in Washington.

A member of the church reported finding 5 headstones damaged.  The damage appeared to be caused by a vehicle striking the headstones.   Deputies processed the scene, conducted interviews, and collected evidence.  It is believed the incident occurred on the night of March 5th or 6th, 2025.  This investigation is still ongoing.
