Washington – It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Cora Hopkins Windley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great, great, grandmother on March 10, 2025 at the age of 90.

Mrs. Windley was born in Beaufort County on March 21, 1934, daughter of the late Jasper William Hopkins and the late Hattie Elizabeth Fulford. She loved fishing, gardening, reading, crocheting, and flowers.

Surviving along with her husband, Dalton Windley of the home; her children, Robert Richardson (Vicki Richardson) of Bath, Michael Richardson of Bath, Donnie Richardson of Richlands, Teresa Smith (Robert Smith) of Blounts Creek, Regina Woolard (Sidney Woolard) of Greenville, and Doris Taylor (Jeffery Taylor) of Bath; sisters, Mary Cuthrell of Pinetown and Thelma Foster of Washington; 14 grandchildren; 21great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Windley was predeceased, along with her parents, by a son, Charles Milton Craddock; brothers, Decater, Ray, Curnie, and Louis Hopkins; husbands, Perry Richardson and Troy Craddock; and great-grandchild Kayden Foreman.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 19th, 2025 at West Belhaven Church of Christ officiated by Pastor Dean Fulford, Jr. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to West Belhaven Church of Christ to support their outreach programs.

The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful help and care they received from the staff at ECU Health Beaufort, especially all the staff on 3 East. Their care and kindness made a difficult situation so much easier.
