On Monday March 17, officers and detectives with the Washington Police Department responded to a request from Raleigh Police Department (RPD) as part of a stolen vehicle investigation.

RPD developed information that a vehicle stolen from their jurisdiction was possibly located at 301 Washington Street, Washington.  Upon arrival Washington officers located the stolen vehicle and while on scene identified a second stolen vehicle from Raleigh.  The second vehicle had not yet been reported stolen at the time of its recovery.

Washington officers took three subjects into custody and charged them with possession of stolen motor vehicle: Zavion Simpkins, 20, of Raleigh, Tyvon Randall, 22, of Raleigh and a 17-year-old juvenile.

As of this writing, all have been released on bond.

Simpkins had warrants out of Raleigh for a previous Larceny of Motor Vehicle that was recovered at 301 Washington Street.
