DURHAM, N.C. — Washington High School alumni and Duke senior safety Terry Moore joined 16 starters and 39 lettermen in the first spring practice on Thursday.

According to a media release from Duke Sports Information, the Blue Devils conducted a two-hour session in helmets at the Brooks Practice Facility.

Duke won nine games last season, just the eighth time in program history that’s happened. They lost in the Taxslayer Gator Bowl to Ole Miss, 52-20.

Moore is coming off a season where he earned All-America honors from Action Network. He was also a Second Team All-ACC selection, starting 13 games and leading Duke with four interceptions. He also tied for the team lead in caused fumbles (two) and was fourth in tackles (71).

Moore also earned honors from The Athletic, College Football Network, The Associated Press and Phil Steele.

The team will hold its second practice on Saturday. The Blue & White Game is April 19 at noon. The Blue Devils open the season at home against Elo on Aug. 30.
