From North Carolina State Highway Patrol

On March 21, at approximately 8:46 p.m. the State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision on US 264 near Page Road in Beaufort County.

30-year-old David Mack Joyner Jr. of Rocky Mount, NC was traveling westbound in a GMC Pickup on US 264 when he crossed the centerline and struck a Chevrolet Malibu driven by 55-year-old Jennifer Lynn Respass, head on.

Respass was pronounced deceased at the scene. Joyner was transported to ECU Health Beaufort.

Joyner was transported to ECU Health Beaufort for treatment. Once released he will be arrested on the below listed charges.

• Careless / Reckless Driving
• Driving While License Revoked
• Open Container After Consuming
• Drive Left of Center
• Expired Registration
• Expired Inspection
