Guy Temple Tripp III peacefully passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025 in Richmond, Virginia. Guy was born to Peggy “Honey” and Guy Tripp, Jr. on April 9, 1939. He grew up in Windsor Farms and spent summers with family along the banks of the Pamlico River. He is survived by his wife, Helen Harrison Tripp; three daughters, Laura Louise Tripp Philips (Matthew), Ginger Harrison Tripp McAdams (Judson), and Ann Temple Tripp Carlson (Emmett); six grandchildren, Tripp, Helen, Eliza, Mason, Wicker, and Temple; and sister-in-law, Jackie Harrison Mason (Hatley).

Guy completed his undergraduate studies and ran track and field at The University of Virginia, then happily remained on Grounds in Charlottesville until graduating from The School of Law. After clerking for the Honorable Thomas C. Gordon, Guy devoted the entirety of his professional law career to Hunton & Williams.

While Guy loved every minute of his work and the wonderful relationships he built at Hunton & Williams, his true heart resided on the Pamlico River. Whether he was sitting in a duck blind with friends, teaching his children how to water ski, or fiddling in the garage, he was happiest sitting quietly on the porch with Helen, watching the sunset.

A memorial service was held and live streamed at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 6000 Grove Avenue, Richmond, VA 23226. Following the service, all were welcomed to a reception at the Tripp home.
