NCHSAA releases sports schedules for 2025-26 season; Northside golf finishes 1st, 2nd

The NC High School Athletic Association has released its sports schedule for the 2025-26 season.

HighSchoolOT.com reports the schedules took longer to complete this time around due to the expansion from four classifications to eight. More specifics about the postseason will be released closer to the completion of each sport in large part to secure venues for the regionals and championships to be held.

Fall sports will begin on July 30 with the first day of practice for football, volleyball, cross country, girls golf, boys soccer and girls tennis. The first games can be played on Aug. 8 with football scrimmages and Aug. 11 for all other sports. The first football dates will be Aug. 22.

Non-football schools will begin winter practices on Oct. 22 with the other schools following on Oct. 29. Spring sports will hold first practice on Feb. 16.

NORTHSIDE GOLF FIRST, SECOND AT MEETS

Northside’s golf team finished first in a meet in Nags Head on Thursday and placed second in a Coastal Plains Conference meet on Tuesday.

Northside’s Tyler Radcliffe earned medalist honors in Thursday’s victory. He was third in Tuesday’s event as Northside placed second with a team score of 361. Lejeune won Tuesday’s event with a 359 as PJ Lefebvre earned medalist honors with an 81. Southside also competed in Tuesday’s event and finished with a 440 team score.

Individual scores were:

Northside — Landon Moore 85, Lawson Goltra 87, Tyler Radcliffe 91, Jahqwon Jones 93, Jay Battershell 98, Max Vansant 99, Bryce Askew 103, Will Cooper 108, Dawson Rouse 115.

Southside — Alex Silva 104, John Jenkins 110, Jordan Grimes-Boone 112, Avery Dawson 114, Mason Hodges 115.
