On April 16, the first community forum on the tentative closing of S.W. Snowden Elementary in Aurora will be held. It will be held at 6 p.m. at the school (693 7th St, Aurora).
This is an opportunity for the community to receive information about the school’s tentative closing, to ask questions and to share their opinions and concerns with the school district.
Beaufort County Schools plans to host more forums in the future; however, the dates of those forums have not been confirmed.
On March 25, the Board of Education voted 7-2 to tentatively close S.W. Snowden Elementary due to low student enrollment numbers and fewer state funded teacher positions.
