Fiery collision with tree kills driver in Aurora

From North Carolina State Highway Patrol
On April 1 at approximately 1:22 p.m., the State Highway Patrol responded to a single vehicle collision on NC 306 near Sparrow Road in Aurora.
A passenger car was traveling west on NC 306, traveled off the roadway to the right and collided into a tree. After the collision, the vehicle caught fire with the driver trapped in the vehicle. The driver died at the scene and there were no other occupants in the vehicle.
Currently, State Highway Patrol waiting for the medical examiner to identify the remains of the driver.
