The Chocowinity Recreation Department and the Town of Chocowinity celebrated the start of the baseball and softball seasons on Saturday.
Children, parents, volunteers and organizers met on the main field at the Chocowinity Recreation Complex to recognize the teams and those participating athletes. Greg Humbirg and Charlie Elks spoke, and Scarlett Stokes received special recognition for her years of service. Lights at the field, which were purchased and recently installed, were turned on and now can be used during the season.
Katie Taylor was named Coach of the Year in 2024 and threw out the first pitch to Lauren Johnson. See more photos of the day at the Chocowinity Recreation Department Facebook page.
