Below is information that was read to recognize each athlete.

Northside

Female Athlete of the Month is senior, Madison Scheffler

Madison is a standout flag football, volleyball and basketball player for NHS, where she has earned All-Conference and All-Tournament honors for volleyball and basketball the last two years. She shows class on and off the court and believes that having character and accountability will help you be successful. Madison is an honor student, boasting a GPA over 3.5 and a member of the Beta Club. Madison also spends time helping her community by passing along knowledge of life at her church, West Belhaven Church of Christ. She will next play volleyball for Sandhills College.

Male Athlete of the Month is junior, Zi’Meir Alexander

Zi’ Meir is an exemplary student-athlete known for his dedication and work ethic. Actively participating in football, basketball, and track, he demonstrates a remarkable commitment to both his athletic and academic pursuits. Recently, Alexander achieved a career-high performance as a junior with 15 points, 16 rebounds and five blocks against Pamlico County’s basketball team. His continuous growth in the classroom is equally impressive, as he sets and reaches new goals.

Washington

Female Athlete of the Month is sophomore, Elizabeth Barrera Meza

Elizabeth has been a bright spot on our Lady Pam Pack basketball team. When you attend a game, she is a constant ball of energy that keeps pushing the team to be better. Elizabeth has been a leading scorer for the team as well as a constant leader on the court. Her drive will push her teammates to be better and we are excited to see her grow as a leader and an athlete for the Lady Pam Pack.

Male Athlete of the Month is junior, Chaise Smith

Chaise has been a crucial part of our varsity men’s basketball team this season. Over the 22 games that have already been played, with many more to come, Chaise has led the team in points per game with 20, assists per game at six and steals with two. Chaise has been a vital part of the team’s success and with his drive and determination, the sky’s the limit for himself and this Pam Pack basketball team.

Southside

Female Athlete of the Month is senior, Sophia Zeigler

Sophia is a great student as well as an outstanding athlete who represents her team, school, community, and county with the utmost dignity and respect. Sophie has been consistent in coming to preseason workouts and does all she can to be the best teammate possible. She has been a team leader since workouts by leading by example through both deed and effort. One cannot ask for a better student-athlete than this young lady, and Southside is very proud to have her as a part of our student body and soccer program.

Male Athlete of the Month is junior, Landon Beacham

Landon consistently demonstrates exceptional athleticism, leadership, and dedication as both a wrestler and the starting center for the football team. In wrestling, he has shown relentless determination, secured key victories and exemplified hard work and perseverance. As the center on the football team, he has been pivotal in the offensive line, ensuring effective protection and execution in every game. His ability to balance both sports while maintaining academic excellence and a positive attitude makes him a deserving candidate for Athlete of the Month.
