James Hewett Brown

James Hewett Brown, son of Hobart and Flora Bella Brown of Washington. died on March 26, 2025. 

He is survived by his two brothers, Hobie Brown, Jr and Allen Brown. 

Hewett was a 1967 graduate of Washington High School and was a true scholar who thoroughly enjoyed learning. He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in chemistry and worked in various jobs in Ohio, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Los Angeles. 

His final home was in Weyauwega, Wisconsin, where he lived with his partner Bob Walters. His true passion was learning, and he enjoyed his wonderful high school teachers including, Mr. Ferrel, Mr. Blanton, Miss Cooper, Mrs. Larkin and Mrs. Jarman. 

He was a witty, creative and humorous person who sent clever texts and letters to his brothers and creative gifts at Christmas time. He is further survived by nephews Bart Brown and wife Courtney of Greenville N.C. and Patrick Brown and wife Lauren of Hudson, Ohio and nieces Emily Kinlaw and husband Matt of Raleigh and Liz Ward of Winterville and Allison Brown of Raleigh.
