David Nathan Brinn was born on March 18, 1982, in Belhaven, North Carolina, and passed away on April 3, 2025, in Elkton, Maryland, at the age of 43. His journey through life was marked by passion, creativity, and a commitment to excellence in all he pursued.
An accomplished architect, David’s career was a testament to his dedication and talent. He applied his expertise as a BIM Revit Technician with Murray Associates Architects in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where his work was characterized by precision and an eye for perfection. He possessed a deep love for architecture, which was evident not only in his professional achievements but also in his personal pursuits of photographing buildings and sketching structures from a young age.
David’s educational path reflected his unwavering commitment to his craft. A graduate of North Side High School in 2000, he went on to obtain an Associate’s degree in Architecture from Pitt Community College in 2009. His thirst for knowledge led him to UNC-Charlotte, where he earned both a Bachelor’s degree in 2016 and a Master’s degree in Architecture in 2018.
Survived by his loving parents, Warren and Beverly Brinn of Pinetown, NC, and his sister Kelly Pinkham and her husband Dustin of Bath, NC, David was a devoted uncle to his niece Isabella Pinkham. His best friend James Alfree of Galena, Kent County, his cherished companion throughout his life. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives he touched deeply.
David was preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Agnes Brinn of Pinetown, NC, his grandfather Jimmy Chandler of Chocowinity, NC, and his Uncle Jimmy Baggett of Pinetown, NC.
Though his career and studies filled much of his life, David’s spirit was most alive during summers spent at Rodanthe Beach, swimming and enjoying water activities at Pungo Creek with his family. He brought joy to many others by serving food in soup kitchens during the holidays and creating magical winter wonderlands while decorating with his grandmother. His artistic talents shone through in his lighting design for high school drama productions and his love for drawing, sketching, and painting.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate David’s life at a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at 1280 Hoff Rd., a place where David spent many joyful summers of his youth. Rev. Ronnie Aycock will officiate the service, honoring a life well-lived and a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
In remembering David Nathan Brinn, may we all strive to embrace beauty, pursue excellence, and cherish the relationships that enrich our lives. His memory will forever remain a guiding light, reminding us of the power of creativity and compassion.
