Beaufort County stolen motor vehicle recovered

On Monday, April 13 2025, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in Chocowinity NC, in reference to a stolen motor vehicle. Deputies patrolled the surrounding area to locate the vehicle but were unsuccessful.
An investigation was conducted, and it was determined the stolen vehicle was at a location in Craven County. Detectives responded to the location along with assistance from the Craven County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Division. The vehicle was located on Antioch Road near Brame Lane in New Bern NC.
The following individuals were arrested and charged in connection with this investigation:
• 36-year-old William Rodney Pittman of Grifton NC was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center with no bond for the following charge:
(1) Felony count of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle
• 43-year-old Michael McKiever Adams of Washington NC was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center with no bond for the following charges:
(1) Felony count of Larceny of Motor Vehicle
(1) Felony count of Possession Stolen Property
(1) Felony count of Possess Methamphetamine
(1) Misdemeanor count of Possess Drug Paraphernalia
• 47-year-old Linwood Michael McRoy of Chocowinity was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center with no bond for the following charges:
(1) Felony count of Larceny of Motor Vehicle
(1) Felony count of Possession with intent to sell/deliver Sch II controlled substance
(1) Misdemeanor count of Possess Drug Paraphernalia
During the investigation, Detectives were made aware of other larcenies that occurred in adjacent jurisdictions. Sheriff Scott Hammonds ask residents who believe they have been the victim of a larceny to contact their local law enforcement agency to report the incident.
