“I ended up hitting it really pure, hit a fade, about a five-yard fade,” said Radcliffe, a freshman. “All of a sudden, it started falling, started drawing, like the wind caught it. And then bounced about, hit the hole about five feet in front of it, spun a little bit and rolled in.
“Slacked a little bit, but I ended up with an 82. That’s not bad, especially on a day like today where it’s only getting warmer and if the breeze doesn’t start blowing, it kind of makes things a little tough for you not only with your game, but obviously with the conditions.”
The Panthers finished second to TEACH in the five-team meet. TEACH had a 347 while Northside shot a 361. Bear Grass Charter (444), Mattamuskeet (446) and Columbia (496) followed.
Bear Grass’ Scout Arnold earned top billing in individual play by shooting a 79. TEACH’s Chris Teembridge (80), Radcliffe and TEACH’s Ashler Collie at 85 followed.
The rest of Northside’s golfers were Lawson Goltra (91), Bryce Askew (91), Landon Moore (97), Will Cooper (100) Jay Battershell (101), Jahqwon Jones (107), Max Vansant (107) and Dawsonn Rouse (120).
The rest of TEACH’s golfers were Kyle Styone (88) and Maddox Knopic (94). Micah Orr had to withdraw.
