Washington Police Department is investigating the shooting death of 17-year-old Jaidyn Tuten.

On Saturday, May 10, Tuten’s body was found in the roadway near West 5th Street and Washington Street. An officer located Tuten’s body at approximately 9:23 p.m., one minute after hearing gun shots.

Tuten was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Tuten was charged in December of 2024 by Washington police officers and was charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
