Emergency Services monitoring potential for severe weather

Our office is monitoring the potential for strong to severe storms later this afternoon. While current forecast models have the highest potential for inclement weather just south of Beaufort Co. (Lenior, Southern Pitt and Craven counties) the exact line of development remains uncertain.
Current forecast details for Beaufort County are as follows:
Rain
– Rain chances are expected to increase around 6pm, with most areas receiving ¼ to ½ inch of rain between 6 and 10pm.
Strong to Severe Storms
– Strong to severe storms capable of producing heavy rains, gusty winds (up to 60 mph) and isolated tornados are possible between 6pm and 9pm.
