We’re less than 100 days until the start of the college football season. One of the top college football players in the country for the 2025 season is from right around here.
The accolades continue to come in for Duke graduate and Washington High School alumnus Terry Moore. Although he recently graduated from Duke, Moore still has one season of football left. After a 2024 season that saw him get all kinds of postseason honors, he’s already getting preseason accolades from a variety of sources.
He’s one of the top returning safeties in the country and is expected to get additional preseason accolades from the Atlantic Coast Conference to even ESPN.
So far, Moore has been recognized by these websites and media outlets:
* PFFCollege.com (Pro Football Focus): One of the top 10 safeties to know for the 2026 NFL draft
* PFF College’s highest-graded safety from 2024 season
His superlatives from last season included:
* Second team All-America by Action Network
* Second team All-AAC
* Top-10 safety nationally by Pro Football Focus
Moore finished 2024 with 71 total tackles, 45 of them solo. He also had five pass deflections, a sack, two forced fumbles and four interceptions.
He has been battling some injuries but is expected to be 100 percent by the time the season begins on Aug. 28 at home against Elon.
