Below is information from Beaufort County Schools Athletic Director Keith Mitchell about the April Athletes of the Month, who were recently recognized at the Beaufort County Board of Education meeting.

Beaufort County Schools recognized the top athletes from April.
Those recognized included Indiah Moore and Braxton Cuthrell of Southside, Jamie Perez and Jacob Spivey of Washington and Riley Hudson and Blake Wainwright of Northside.
Below is the information that was read during the Beaufort County Board of Education meeting to recognize each of the athletes.
Southside
Female Athlete of the Month is sophomore Indiah Moore
Indiah is a model student in the classroom and a great student-athlete. She always tries her very best and is a standout member of the track team, where she competes in three different relays, the 4×100, the 4×200, and the 4×400. She also does high jump and hurdles, showcasing her remarkable speed, agility and athleticism. In addition to her track achievements, Indiah has also excelled in basketball, volleyball, and cheerleading, making her a well-rounded and valuable team player. Her commitment to excellence and her ability to perform in diverse athletic disciplines make her a deserving candidate for Female Athlete of the Month.
Male Athlete of the Month is sophomore Braxton Cuthrell
Braxton stands out both on and off the field. As a pitcher for the baseball team, Braxton has consistently demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication and leadership. His pinpoint accuracy and composure under pressure have made him a vital asset to the team’s success this season. Beyond his athletic prowess, Braxton is a model student-athlete. He maintains a strong academic record and exemplifies the values of discipline, teamwork and perseverance. Whether in the classroom or on the mound, Braxton sets a high standard for his peers and continues to inspire those around him with his work ethic and commitment to excellence.
Washington
Female Athlete of the Month is senior Jamie Perez
Jamie is a staple on the Lady Pack soccer team. For four years, Jamie has been a goal-scoring machine, scoring 80 goals in only 52 games, and for the month of April, not much changed. For the month, Jamie scored seven goals in four games, as well as adding four assists. Jamie’s hard work, dedication and leadership have made her a valuable asset to the Lady Pack soocer team.
Male Athlete of the Month is senior Jacob Spivey
Jacob has been a reliable pillar throughout the year. He started off the season slowly but really became a force in the month of April. During the month, Jacob was in the top five on the team in all major hitting categories as well as becoming the ace on the pitching mound. He led the team in innings pitched, wins, earn run average and in the field, led the team in double plays turned. Jacob is as dependable as they come.
Northside
Female Athlete of the Month is junior Riley Hudson
Riley is the definition of a multi-sport athlete, excelling in both flag football and softball this season. As a dynamic playmaker on the flag football field, Riley has shown outstanding leadership and game awareness, reading defenses and making key plays on offense. Her competitive spirit and dedication make her a reliable force. On the softball diamond, Riley brings the same intensity and focus. Her hustle, positive attitude, and team-first mindset have made her a standout leader in both sports. Riley’s work ethic, resilience, and passion for athletics make her a well-deserved choice for Athlete of the Month. Her coaches and teammates are proud of her continued growth and contributions to both teams.
Male Athlete of the Month is sophomore Blake Wainwright
Blake has had an exceptional year in athletics at Northside High School, demonstrating dedication, resilience and leadership across multiple sports. Throughout both the fall and spring seasons, Blake has been a key contributor to the cross country, football, baseball, and track teams. Blake is the kind of athlete every coach hopes for: hardworking, driven and always willing to put in the extra effort. He frequently goes above and beyond expectations and his commitment to improving not only helped him consistently hit new personal records (PRs), but it also inspired those around him to push themselves further. He definitely is a joy to coach and a pleasure to teach and embodies what it means to be a true student-athlete.
