PLYMOUTH, N.C. — Runners from Northside High School, Terra Ceia Christian School and other parts of Beaufort County took the podium and performed well at last Saturday’s Run with the Bears 5K event.

The run was held to kick off the second day of Plymouth’s annual Black Bear Festival. Participants ran through a designed course that took them through parts of the town. It showcased participants of all ages with several Bearufort County residents taking home top honors.

Leading everyone to the finish line was Beck Classey of Denver, N.C. He won the race in 15:16 to beat out Northside High School runner Avery Roberson of Washington, who finished in 15:47. Fellow Northside runner Blake Wainwright was third in 18:22.

Lauin Williams of Greenville was the top female runner, placing 24th in 21:34.
