Pyrotechnics on US-264 part of film production, officials say

PITT COUNTY, N.C. – Pitt County Emergency Management (PCEM) notifies residents that as part of film production happening east of Pactolus, near the US-264/HWY 30 intersection, pyrotechnics including fireworks and blasting are scheduled during the evenings of Monday, June 16, Tuesday, June 17 and Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

Weather permitting, the anticipated times are 9:00 p.m. through 12:00 a.m., but due to the nature of the event, it may run later.

Residents may hear loud blasting sounds and see fireworks or smoke.

There is no threat to the public and Emergency Management confirms calls to 9-1-1 Communications are not needed for this event.

The Pitt County Fire Marshal will be onsite for the production with N.C. licensed pyrotechnicians.
