Williamston, NC — Ellen Ward Everett Etheridge Campbell of Williamston, NC passed away on June 16, 2025 at 8:10 am after a long and lengthy illness.
Ellen was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hilton Everett, Sr. of Hamilton, NC, who preceded her death as did her beloved, husband Charles G. Campbell of Williamston, NC and her brother, Roy H Everett, Jr of Hamilton, NC and nephew David Lee Everett, Jr of Hamilton, NC and Mark’s father, Robert Edward Etheridge of Emporia, VA.
Ellen is survived by her son, Mark Edward Etheridge and his wife Jodie of Holly Springs, NC, her granddaughter Caroline Noelle Etheridge, grandsons Joshua Hamilton Etheridge and Christian Everett Etheridge. Her brother David Everett of Hamilton NC survives as do her sisters Elise Everett Rawls of Chocowinity, NC and Julie Everett Cary of Greenville, NC as well as many nieces and a nephew.
A beloved interior designer, Ellen touched many lives over the years with her gifts of beautiful things. She and her husband, Charles, owned and operated Brown-Campbell Interiors for over 40 years as well as the Holiday Inn Hotel in Williamston in later years. These bygones, but much-loved businesses, will be part of their legacies.
A lifetime member of the Hamilton Baptist Church, Ellen’s family roots run deep in this small community. She also attended First Baptist Church in Washington, NC.
Ellen’s family wishes to express our sincere appreciation for all acts of kindness shown during her lengthy illness. The care she received from Roanoke Home Health, Gentiva Hospice, and here wonderful at-home caregivers provided great comfort and love. We are forever grateful.
Visitation will be at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston, NC on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 10:00am, one hour prior to the funeral services at 11:00am – also at Biggs Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Historic Hamilton Cemetery in the Everett Family Plot.
