Washington High School alum Terry Moore will host his football camp again in July.

The Duke graduate senior defensive back continues to receive accolades from preseason publications as he and the rest of the Blue Devils prepare for the upcoming season. He’ll also be giving back to the Washington community with a football camp, which he’ll be hosting for a third straight year.

The Terry Moore Dream Big Football Camp is July 19 from 9-11 a.m. at Washington High School.

A post about the camp at TicketLeap.events says, “This free, high-energy camp is all about giving back to the community and helping the next generation of athletes level up their game. Whether you’re new to football or already ballin’, this camp is designed to sharpen your skills, boost your confidence, and get you ready for the upcoming season.”

The camp will focus on drills, training and other football-related activities. He’ll also have some Duke teammates joining him. He’ll conduct a motivational talk to the campers and will host a question-and-answer session.

Campers who want to participate are asked to bring at least one canned food item as their “ticket.” The donations will go to local homeless shelters.

Preseason accolades

Athlon Sports’ preseason First-Team All-ACC team lists Moore as one of the top players at safety in its preseason publication.

Moore had three interceptions and over 50 tackles last season. The publication also listed Duke teammate Chandler Rivers as one of the tops in the secondary with Moore.

In addition, Moore was recognized by Phil Steele on his preseason All-America squad at safety. Yardbarker.com has Moore as the No. 4 defensive back in the ACC. He’s also listed No. 4 in the ACC by Sports Illustrated.

Previously, Moore was tabbed by Pro Football Focus as the No. 10 returning safety in the country. He was also on the On3.com’s top-100 players list. ESPN has also recognized Moore for his talents and as one of the top returning players.
