Marion Roxie Bell Edwards, age 72, a resident of 75 Bell Ave., Chocowinity, NC, died Monday, October 8, 2012, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, October 11, 2012, at the Edwards Cemetery of Chocowinity, officiated by Pastor Robert Tuck. Pallbearers will be Louis Edwards, II, Jessie Edwards, Charlie Edwards, Floyd Gibbs, Mathew Windley and Aaron Edwards.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Beaufort County on November 9, 1939, daughter of the late Don Leon Bell and the late Jessie Gordon Dixon Bell. She was a graduate of Chocowinity High School and married Louis Webster Edwards, Sr. who preceded her in death on July 5, 2001. Mrs. Edwards was a homemaker and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Washington.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by three sons: Louis W. Edwards, II and his wife Roberta of Washington, Charlie Don Edwards and his wife Hattie of Hattiesburg, MS and Jessie Wayne Edwards and his wife Barbara of Chocowinity; two daughters: Kimberly Edwards of Chocowinity and Tisha Windley and her husband Johnny of Chocowinity; a brother: David Bell of Massachusetts; two sisters: Beulah Mae Rhodes of Elizabeth City and Sarah Ann Beacham of Chocowinity; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 7 PM to 8:30 PM Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.
