Mr. Arthur Louis Ball, Sr., age 77, a resident of 4346 Terrapin Track Road, Washington died Wednesday evening at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Linwood Adams, Jr. Timothy Waters, Brad Smith, Karen Ball, Pete Holland, Jr., Jay Waters and Ronald Roberson will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Ball was born in Beaufort County on September 20, 1935, son of the late James Franklin Ball and Emma Spruill Ball. He was a salesman for Mallison’s Hardware and True Value. Mr. Ball was a former member of the Lion’s Club and the Police Boy’s Club. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joan Holland Ball; his children: Arthur Ball, Jr., and wife Darlene and Melanie Ball Everette, all of Washington; his grandchildren: Mallory Ball, Lyndsay Ball, Brad Smith and Amber Waters; his great-grandchildren: Lily Smith, Ella Smith, McKayla Waters, Mariah Waters, Bethany Waters and Bryce Waters and his sister: Edna Moore of Washington. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Jim Ball, Jr. and Horace Ball and his sisters: Mable Summrell and Gladys Wright.
The family will receive friends 7:00-8:30 PM on Friday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.
