12-day scavenger hunt a WHDA success

The 22-carat prehnite ring that went to one lucky winner of the 12 Day of Christmas Scavenger Hunt in downtown Washington this Christmas season.

 

The Washington Harbor District Alliance announced the winners of the first 12 Days of Christmas Scavenger Hunt. Over 55 people submitted completed forms, in which they visited a number of downtown Washington merchants, searching for the 12 days of Christmas gifts hidden in various merchants’ windows.

“It was fun — people really seemed to enjoy walking around and looking in all the windows,” said Beth Byrd, director of WHDA. “Some of the gifts were actually a little difficult to find.”

The winners were as follows: 22-carat prehnite gold ring from Stewart’s Jewelry Store, Cheryl Whitaker; a child’s wooden rocker from Big Bargain Furniture, Mary Jo Latham; a $100 gift certificate from Inner Banks Artisans Center, Joanna Rieg; a $40 gift certificate from On the Waterfront Restaurant, Dilyana Konova; two Lunch for 2 gift certificates from Zaitona Restaurant, Will Kelly; a $20 gift certificate from LaBella Pizzeria, Kaila Lietz; a $20 coffee gift certificate from The General’s Store, Cathy Davis; a $30 gift certificate from Oasis Salon, Ellie Warren; $25 gift certificate from Charisma Boutique, Mary Kathryn Sheppard; choice of any jewelry class by Valda Belyeu offered In 2013 from Riverwalk Gallery & Arts Center, Gayle Watson; a handcrafted painting by Art Tyndall from Art Tyndall Studios, Kellie Watters; and a gift basket from Little Shoppes of Washington, James Radford.
