How to adopt Good news from the “the Shelter” this month: according to volunteer Dottie Walker, 70 animals had been adopted from Jan. 1 to Jan. 25. Anyone interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. Meet Chaplin, a 9-month-old Maine coon-mix kitten. He is playful, affectionate, very clean and loves people. His coat is silky and he has long tufts of fur behind his ears – he’s stylin’ ! Also available, but not photographed, is his twin sister, Lacey.  She is just as adorable and sweet. Both Chaplin and Lacey will make wonderful additions to their new forever homes and are available until Saturday.

Deena is a 5-month-old female, Australian cattle -dog mix. She has a black and gray short hair, an easy to maintain coat and she will grow into a medium-sized adult dog. She loves interacting with people and she is friendly, smart and playful. Deena is available at “the Shelter” until Saturday.
