The Beaufort County Arts Council’s Little Art Exhibit is on display today at the Washington Civic Center. One of BCAC’s most popular fundraisers, the exhibit gives arts patrons the opportunity to own a piece of original art at a price that is affordable.
Earlier in the year, more than 150 8-inch by 10-inch canvases were distributed to artists up and down the east coast of North Carolina and beyond. Each artist created an original work of art, then donated the piece back to BCAC for sale during this unique fundraiser. Each work is sold to the public for $30, or patrons may purchase four works for $100. What makes the fundraiser unique is the fact that purchasers do not know which piece is theirs until the closing reception.
As in years past, canvases have sold out and are only on display until tonight’s closing reception from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
Lone Leaf Custom Framing and Gallery in downtown Washington will frame any work purchased at the Little Art Exhibit at a 25 percent discount off regular prices.
This year, as in years past, Tayloe’s Hospital Pharmacy is the Little Arts Exhibit fundraiser’s corporate sponsor.
“They are great supporters of BCAC, and the community in general,” said Joey Toler, executive director of BCAC.
