HELMA WITCHET | CONTRIBUTED HEALTHY PLACES: Blounts Creek senior citizens participated in a 6 weeks Healthy Living Workshop sponsored by Beaufort County Health Department. Kelli Russell, Human Service Planner, and Greg Scarola, ECU intern were excellent presenters. The participants learned a lot about eating healthy on a budget. Topics by the week included baseline screenings and “What is health?”; My Plate and Nutrition; Cut the Fat Without Losing Power; Yoga and Stress Management; Physical Activity and Zumba; Eating Healthy on a Budget and final screenings. Nathan Hooker, 86, said he wished he had learned this information 60 years ago.
